Behson, Scott J.

Dr. Scott J. Behson is an Associate Professor of Management at the Silberman College of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University.  He teaches, conducts research, and provides consulting services in Work-Family Programs, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior.  Scott received a Ph.D. from the University at Albany, State University of New York, and a B.S. from Cornell University.  Dr. Behson is proud to have been named the Silberman College of Business Teacher of the Year for 2010-2011.

His research interests include work-family balance, organizational climate/culture, and workplace flexibility. He has published articles in such journals as The Journal of Vocational Behavior, The Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, and the Journal of Health Care Management, and has presented his work at numerous conferences including the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology, The Academy of Management and the European Applied Business Research Conference.  Scott has won four awards for his research, and is a two-time nominee for the prestigious Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award for excellence in Work-Family Research. 

Dr. Behson previously taught at the State University of New York at Albany, the International University of Monaco and La Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Scott has several years’ experience in Management and HR consulting, and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Rockland Parent-Child Center, a not-for-profit social services organization. 

On a personal note, Scott lives in Nyack, NY, with his wife, the lovely and talented stage actress Amy Griffin and their beautiful son, Nicky. He has traveled to 5 continents, and enjoys baseball, volleyball and skiing.
