Dear colleagues,

Happy new year!  This is the time of year when I begin to construct the review committee for the Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award for Excellence in Research on Work and Family.  It is always very important that the reviewers be diverse in terms of discipline, country, perspective, methodological approach, and background, and toward that end, I am inviting applications to serve on the review committee.

The work of the committee takes place during the spring; the winner will be announced at the WFRN conference.  There are three rounds of review; each takes several hours of work over a period of 2-4 weeks.

 The aims of the Kanter award are:

-to raise awareness of high quality work-family research among the scholar, consultant, and practitioner communities;

-to foster debate about what the standards of quality for work-family research should be, and ultimately to raise those standards;

-and to identify the “best of the best” on which to base future research.

I think many reviewers find it both exciting and gratifying to participate in the experience of selecting the winner of this award.  I hope that I can entice you to commit some time to participating in this initiative over the coming months!  If you would like to be considered for membership on the committee, please send your vitae to me at shelley@purdue.edu by JANUARY 17.  Thank you in advance for considering this invitation!
